Regulation and Accreditation Analyst/Coordinator

About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced data‑focused professional to join Aurizon’s Corporate Safety team in a stable, ongoing coordination role. The role suits someone who enjoys consistent, detail-focused compliance, reporting and coordination work. You’ll support the Safety Regulation & Accreditation function by maintaining accurate safety data, producing regular performance reporting, coordinating regulatory activities and supporting key stakeholders in keeping safety management (SMS) documentation current and compliant to legislative requirements.

You’ll be part of a corporate safety team providing dependable support across reporting, document control and assurance activities. This is a great fit for someone who likes clear routines, enjoys working with data and documents, and takes pride in keeping things accurate, on time, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support safety reporting and analytics activities, including managing and assuring data quality and integrity.
  • Produce periodic safety performance reports using appropriate data and analytics tools.
  • Support maintenance and updating of Safety Management System (SMS) documentation to support legislative and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide coordination support for regulatory activities (e.g., collating evidence, tracking actions, maintaining registers).
  • Assist with safety activities as required to support delivery of the safety strategy and plan (including occasional site-based activities where needed).
  • Support managers and principals with administrative and coordination tasks that enable delivery of key services.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and accountability across the Aurizon community.

About You 

  • You’re methodical, reliable and enjoy work that is structured, process-driven and consistent.
  • You have strong attention to detail and are comfortable working with datasets, registers, and repeatable reporting cycles.
  • You’re confident coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders and following up actions to completion.
  • You communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing and can maintain accurate records, templates and documentation.
  • You work well in a team, manage your time effectively, and can balance competing priorities.

What We’re Looking For 

  • Mandatory: Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: 1–2 years’ post-graduate experience in an analyst, reporting, compliance or coordination role.
  • Working understanding of a Safety Management System (SMS) and how controlled documentation is maintained.
  • Working understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements (or the ability to learn quickly in a compliance environment).
  • Capabilities aligned to the role: collaborates, communicates effectively, customer focus, manages complexity, persuades.
