
Over Dimensional Road Loads
Over dimensional road loads on Aurizon network crossings
In the interest of safety and in accordance with Transport Infrastructure (Rail) Regulation 2017, over dimensional road vehicle operators are required to obtain permission from Aurizon Network to traverse Aurizon Network's rail infrastructure. If a road load travelling on or near Aurizon Network infrastructure exceeds any of the following dimensions, a permit or confirmation issued by Aurizon Network is required:
- 4.3m high
- 5.5m wide
- 35m long
- 12T per single axle.
How do I apply?
Step 1:
Download and complete an Application form. Ensure all details are completed and are correct to avoid delays in the processing of your application.
Step 2:
Email completed form to overdimensional@aurizon.com.au. Ensure your Over Dimensional Road Load movement date is included within the subject of your email.
Step 3:
We require five business days to assess your application and issue you a permit, confirmation or a request for further information. Applications submitted with less than five business days’ notice will incur additional fees and cannot be guaranteed. Applications requiring an engineering assessment will take more than five business days to issue a permit, confirmation or a request for further information.
Step 4:
If you require changes to the details on an issued permit or confirmation, please email overdimensional@aurizon.com.au to obtain an amendment. We require an additional five days’ notice to re-issue a permit and confirmation.
A permit is a document issued by Aurizon Network that permits an over dimensional road vehicle to cross Aurizon Network rail infrastructure (See map for more details).
